Our mission is to foster the development of responsible, self-sufficient, contributing, happy, and drug free young adults by providing effective and affordable programming, in which participants embark upon new healthy roads of life.
When a loved one uses drugs, the entire family is affected. At New Roads, our team is not only comprised of experienced clinical professionals, but also of people who have watched their own loved ones go through the pain and hardship of substance abuse and addiction.
Our holistic approach to young adult drug treatment is based on the most up-to-date research and includes substance abuse counseling, mental health therapy, life coaching, educational consultation, vocational counseling, and other clinical services specifically targeted to the developmental needs of young adults. This holistic model enables autonomy, growth, and success for each individual client and their families. We recognize that progression is different for everyone. And we celebrate every facet of change as it occurs—which keeps our clients engaged in the process and committed to ongoing change.
At New Roads, we believe in combining our experience with the most up-to-date substance abuse therapy, working not only on our clients' continued abstinence from drugs and alcohol through substance abuse therapy, but also any depression, anxiety, attitude, or other problems. Our programs offer a safe place for the client to live while they participate in therapy and other programming.
Transitional programming is another hallmark of our rehabilitation programs. Research has shown that providing multiple levels of care, which offer effective transitions to lower-intensity treatment modalities, is one of the most important components of long-term sobriety. At New Roads, clients can modify the intensity and frequency of their therapy as they progress from Residential Treatment to Transition. This allows clients to work through their recovery within the treatment program and experience real-life situations with the support of healthy peers and program staff. Moving clients into sober apartment housing is integral to long-term success, because it encourages clients to seek help if they are in a crisis, rather than turning to drugs or alcohol. Transitional housing also provides a safe and family-like atmosphere which better mirrors real-life than the residential treatment facility from whence they came.
Perhaps the biggest benefit of transition is that it allows clients to ease more slowly and comfortably back into every day life in a safe and supportive environment. As they re-enter the workforce and group housing, they become increasingly less dependent on the program to maintain abstinence from drugs generally. Thanks to increased self-reliance, responsibility, and accountability, transitional clients generally experience fewer relapses, greater satisfaction with the program, and a greater commitment to sobriety. Also, because our transitional programs are more affordable than residential treatment, clients can embrace a new life focused on sobriety—not debt.
